Coco Reference Sheet

Coco, a character my friend and I came up with back in 1998 when we were working on a fancomic for a sequel to Simba's Pride. I just dug out the comic and found Coco and fell in love with the character She has a brother named Cumber (we didn't come up with any names for them, so we divided "Cucumber" among them), who looks nothing like her, unless you count the crazy colors.

Personality? I dunno. In the comic, she's funny and a little mean, though not "really mean" like Vitani. Abby (Kovu's daughter) met her and Cumber when Abby was trapped in a poacher trap. Coco's first (out loud) thought was: "Too bad our girlfriends aren't here, this sight is priceless!" (by girlfriends she refers to a female warthog and a female meerkat - you do the math).
When Abby yells at her that her grandfather is king of these lands, Coco tells her to sob her story to him and keeps making fun of Abby in the trap. When her brother finally frees Abby from the cage, Coco hopes for Cumber to let go of the cage door and let it smash into Abby's face. She didn't laugh though when Cumber indeed let go of the door by accident and Abby's tail got stuck with a loud "CLAP"...

She's from the Kalahari, where most of their pride including their mother, died during a drought. Then more of their pridesisters were killed by villagers who were robbed of their cattle by the lions. Then they ran into and didn't manage to ditch, the wartsow and the meerkitty. Finally they discovered the Pridelands which were also currently the hunting grounds for a poaching couple who'd also shoot and kill Simba.

I think Coco is a rather cheerful, bold and silly lioness who's mostly seen laughing at or about something or someone. She's also defensive of her brother and falls in love with Kovu's son, Jacko (God I hate that name).

I think she might just become my favorite TLK OC
