Neuter or spay your damned cat or else this is what happens. They multiply, more cats, less food, ugly fights. Taken in Haifa, Israel.

This was NOT done by people!! The cat's ear has a form of cancer that makes it crumple, due to the brutal Israeli sun. The eye is the typical price these feral cats pay for their freedom. Some other cat must have clawed it, got infected and died off. Israelis treat the strays quite well, they give them food, water, shelter, and some bring them to the vet for neutering. So normally it's safe to assume injuries were not caused by human cruelty.

If you credit me (Anna Giladi off site), you can use this for animal welfare purposes ONLY.

I couldn't agree more.
My friends have 3 kittens that are going outside and around 7-8ish months (so they can have kittens now), one of them is a male and is a brother to the second female (the third is also female but not related), guess what? They aren't responsible enough to neuter them before they have inbred kittens, so they're more than likely to end up with tons of deformed kittens and get stuck with them. We neutered our cat (even though the same group of friends tried to convince us to let her have a litter .-.) and I'd definitely neuter any future cats I get too to prevent THIS from happening.   I feel so bad for all the feral cats, there's just too many of them for us all to help.

We never had any injuries like that, but before our cat Tibs was neutered he got into fights with his dad and went around limping. Poor guy...

Yes, I totally agree with the whole neuter and spay yours pets thing. Yes, I know, baby kittens and puppies are cute, but that doesn't mean you breed your animals like crazy, because when they're older, people think they don't seem so cute anymore, and just treat them like trash, that is, if you have too many animals. How 'bout you go and adopt one instead??? No matter how badly injured, you should feel good about yourself for saving another's life.

Btw, the first thing I thought of when I saw this was: BRIGHTHEART. If I was able to own this cat I would name it Brightheart. I feel so sorry for it.

... It sort of looks like Brightheart from the Warrior's series. The one that lost the side of her face to a dog pack.

This is so horrible. We just saved a cat. His owners beat him so bad that they had to take his back leg. It sucks when owners dont take care of their animals!!

Feral cats in most places in the united states are taken to animal shelters and euthanized, so these cats are lucky to be alive. It is a shame that more people don't spay and neuter their pets though.

My Aunt and Uncle live in Haifa. They take care of the stray cats outside, and make sure they're healthy. A couple months ago, they found a cat stuck in a wire fence for 13 hours, and they rescued him. We know many cats. Mii, Melissa, Mitzi, Alice, Flash, and Izzi.

Wow. Maybe I'll meet them sooner or later, crazy cat people do attract each-other :D I know 3 people in Haifa who take care of animals: Ehud M., Tania in Hadar, and Dr. Snapir, also in Hadar. The latter even performes difficult surgeries on strays he finds injured and now he's consulting with a plastic surgeon on how to restore a particular cat's lip that she'd lost. That's what I like about Israelis. Not polite, very in your face, but warm-hearted :)

There's a port in Haifa, and there are TONS of stray kittens and cats. They also have a nice seafood restraunt there, where the workers feed the cats. In the Dead Sea, we found two stray kitties, bought them food and water, and fed them on the sidewalk. We spent two hours buying food and lookingnfor the cats. Indeed, those kitties were very grateful.

Awww that reminds me of the Kinneret. In a lakeside fish restaurant my mom and I (and every other guest) were feeding strays off the table :D It was a mom with her 3 to 4 months old kittens.

Poor thin :(. There should be a law that if you don't have a permit for BREEDING cats(They have to qualify that they will treat the cats like pets and not like slaves. Its a qualification. They have to have a good shelter too.) it has to be spayed or neutered, if it isn't you get several warnings in a months time, if it is ignored your cat will be taken away from you and put in a shelter where it will be Spayed/Neutered.

yeah most people don't realise the problems, even a well cared cat can suffer from diseases, that would easily be prevented by neutering or spaying...
And so many young babykittens have to die because they get infectet with cat flu in their mothers womb... ._. this makes me really sad.
About the picture:

I really like the straight front view, and the slight blurred background. The white of the cat really stands out.
