The press says we lost the war.
I say we lost face before the terrorists, we look like doormats, but isn't the real loser the one with the greatest death toll and the worst damage to structures? Israel's spirit remains unbroken, our prosperity and productivity unhampered, and we have managed to keep our humanity by sparing many civilian lives on enemy soil. I don't see people sitting in tears on destroyed buildings with their loved ones buried in the rubble. We got shaken up a little, and we are moving on.
The terrorists have gotten their own families killed, had to resort to lies to elicit sympathies, and drew fire to the civilians they claim to represent. They have reminded us that we need to keep an eye on them and strike them with devastating force when they hit Tel Aviv, and they showed to the world once and for all that they don't care about Jerusalem as much as they pretend to when they fired missiles on what they claim is holy to them.
Sure, Bibi got an inappropriate ego trip out of it and we could and should have struck much, much harder, but unlike the terrorists, we managed to preserve our humanity and limit the damage and casualties on our side. We are still standing. Whatever the conditions of the ceasefire, whatever politics may read into it, for having fewer funerals to attend,
ISRAEL HAS WON THE WAR.
Thank you so much to all soldiers who fought or offered to fight, to all services, volunteers and organizations who helped, and to all those kind people who helped one-another through these difficult days by providing rides, shelter and hugs. Thanks to the Na-Nach-Nachmans for dancing in the middle of shoot-outs to cheer up our troops. The worst of our enemy brings out the best in us. Every missile that strikes Israel brings us closer together and encourages us to charge forward while terrorists scurry right past progress because they know no love, know no solidarity, know no compassion, and know no drive beyond hurting others.
עם ישראל חי לנצח
